Coaching Accomplishments

I mainly work with Jessica LaPorte and her students. Since I currently study full-time at the University of Michigan, I work with her when I come back to Kalamazoo due to either breaks from school or if I am working (scorekeeping) a hockey tournament that weekend. I end up being in Kalamazoo most weekends as a result. By combining our different styles, perspectives, and experiences, Jessica and I are able to fulfill the individual needs of each skater.

Background

I have grown up in Kalamazoo, MI, and as a student in this club. I have been skating since I was three years old. While growing up, I engaged in several different sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc.), but felt the strongest passion for figure skating. I have been working with children of all ages as a babysitter, in a daycare, and helping my mother in her elementary school classroom for many years. I currently compete on the intercollegiate team at the University of Michigan. I will be graduating at the end of the winter 2024 semester with a B.A. in psychology.

Experience

I have participated in the sport of figure skating in one way or another for over 17 years. I have been competing for over a decade and have earned a myriad of scores/placements. I passed the Seniors Moves in The Field Test in 2019 and the Solo Gold Dance Test in 2020. In 2021 I passed the Gold Dance Test, Solo International Dance Test, and Senior Solo Free Dance, amassing a total of 5 national gold medals.
