During the past 20 years my students have attained medals in both individual and team competitions. Students have also achieved gold level in these disciplines: Moves in the field, Ice dance (Both Partnered & Solo), Solo Free dance and Free Skate. Students currently participate in MBSS (Michigan Basic Skills Series) competitions, NSD (National Solo Dance) competitions, High School Team, Intercollegiate, and Synchronized Skating competitions. I have been blessed to have had skaters continue their skating through college in Synchronized skating, Intercollegiate competitions and Disney.

Background

I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University.  After 3 years of teaching, I chose to coach skating full time while raising my three children with my husband of 20 years, Christopher.  Coaching allows me to combine my love of skating with my love of working with children.

Experience

I enjoy coaching all aspects of skating.  I am frequently asked to serve as a mentor-coach to new coaches and love to see them grow in the process of coaching. I am especially proud of my skaters who have continued to compete and finish tests throughout their college careers. It is wonderful to cheer them on as they represent their university’s synchronized skating team or intercollegiate team.
