Coaching Accomplishments

  • Head Coach of the Adrian College Varsity Figure Skating team -2022 Intercollegiate National Finals Bronze Medalists, 2020 National Intercollegiate Final Qualifiers (canceled due to covid), 2020 and 2022 Midwestern Conference Champions (extending the team total to 9 in a row).
  • Coached skaters to 7 individual national intercollegiate medals and 6 National Intercollegiate Titles during the 2021-2022 Season. Choreographed programs for eight individual
    intercollegiate national medalists (Juvenile Short Program, Excel Juvenile Free Skate, Junior Solo Free Dance, Novice Solo Free Dance, Juvenile Solo Free Dance)
  • As Head Coach of the Lenawee United HS Team -2020-2021 “C Team” District 3 Champions, 2020-2021 “C Team” Ml High School State Championship Bronze Medalists, 2021-2022 “C Team” District 3 Champions, 2021-2022 “C Team” Ml High School State Championship Silver Medalists, 3 Michigan High School State Medalists, and 2 Ml High School State Champions.
  • Helped coach skaters through all levels of moves in the field, freestyle, solo pattern dance, and solo free dance tests. Additionally, has choreographed freestyle, compulsory, solo free dance, and duet programs for a variety of levels.

Background

Nikki started skating in 2001 and grew up skating in Kalamazoo. During her amateur career, she was a member of the Kalamazoo Kinetic Synchronized Skating teams and Kalamazoo Area high school figure skating teams (2012-2015), in addition to competing in solo dance and freestyle competitions and
participating in the annual ice show. She was also a member of the Crystallettes Junior Synchronized skating team in the 2014-2015 season where they placed 6th at nationals. She attended Adrian College where she completed her Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in graphic design in 2019. While coaching the Adrian College Figure Skating Team, she completed her Masters in Sports Management in 2021. During the 2021-2022 season, she was a skating skills coach for the Adrian College Open Collegiate Synchro team and will be continuing as a volunteer virtual assistant for the Adrian College Synchro and Figure Skating teams in the 2022-2023 season. Nikki’s management background includes Adrian College Learn to Skate Director 2019-2022, Head
Coach of the Lenawee United HS Figure Skating Team 2020-2022, and Head Coach of the Adrian College Varsity Figure Skating Team 2019-2022. She has also volunteered to be part of various U.S. Figure Skating Committees including Collegiate Skating, High School Skating, Synchronized Development, and Technical and Programs and New Program Development. Nikki has a passion for helping skaters find their love on the ice and believes there is something for everyone from the grassroots of skating to representing Team USA.

  • 2018 U.S. Intercollegiate Team Championships -National Champion in Junior Ladies Short Program, Junior Championship Freeskate, Senior Solo pattern dance (pre-gold), and national silver medalist in high team maneuvers.
  • 2017 U.S. Intercollegiate Team Championships national bronze medalist in Senior solo pattern dance (pre-Gold), and national silver medalist in High Team Maneuvers.
  • 2016 U.S. Intercollegiate Team Championships Senior Solo pattern dance Champion (Pre-Gold), and silver medalist in Junior Championship free skate, and high team maneuvers.
  • 2012-2015 National Solo Dance Series Final Medalist in Bronze Pattern, Pre-Silver Pattern, Intermediate Combined, Novice Combined, Pre-Gold Pattern, and Novice Shadow Dance.
  • 2021 National Solo Dance Series Final Competitor in Senior Shadow Dance (5th place).
