Agreements
OPEN JUVENILE AND INTERMEDIATE ONLY- Practice Dress Rental Agreement
I understand and agree to these policies.
I, ____________(skater) agree to rent the assigned practice dress from Kalamazoo Kinetic. Should something happen to the dress while it is in my possession I am responsible for the full cost of the dress. Should I lose the dress, I am responsible for the full cost of the dress. The dress needs to be returned at the end of the season, with full season payment completed.
Commitment Agreement
*
I understand and agree to these policies.
I, _________, (skater) commit to the Kalamazoo Kinetic Synchronized Skating Team for the 2024-2025 competitive season. With this commitment, I agree to abide by all policies and procedures of GKSA and Kalamazoo Kinetic as listed in the Kalamazoo Kinetic 2024-2025 Synchronized Skater’s Handbook. A few items are listed below but see the Handbook for a complete listing of policies and procedures: Club Expectations of the GKSA Skater – The Skater’s Code of Conduct GKSA has very specific expectations of team skaters, and assume that skaters will work diligently to meet those expectations. The following are general requirements for all team members. Additionally, each team coach and/or team manager may have additional expectations and requirements for their specific teams. Parents should go over the following requirements with their skaters so that all involved know what to expect. Skaters will be held accountable to all expectations, those provided here, and those added by team coaches, managers, and other team-associated personnel. Perhaps most importantly, the Club expects all skaters and parents to display good sportsmanship behavior. This includes being respectful to all teammates, club skaters, parents, coaches, and officials. Attendance Attendance is MANDATORY and tardiness will not be permitted. As ice time is limited and expensive, disciplinary action will result from absence or tardiness. The disciplinary action will be left to the coaches’ discretion. Skaters are expected to participate in all scheduled team competitions, exhibitions, clinics and meetings. Skaters must attend all scheduled team practices, both on and off the ice. If a skater is going to be absent from practice, they must let the team manager and head coach know ASAP via SportsYou. Should a skater need to miss a practice due to illness, they must contact the head coach and team manager via SportsYou. Any absence from a scheduled practice during the two weeks prior to an exhibition or competition may result in the skater being designated as an alternate at the event. If a practice is canceled due to inclement weather, skaters will be notified through SportsYou. This will be our main source of communication. Process for missing a scheduled practice If you are missing a practice due to a known scheduling conflict (school function, vacation, etc.) please take the following steps: At least one week before the known absence contact the head coach and team manager. If you are missing a practice due to an unknown circumstance (illness, injury, death in the family, etc.) please take the following steps: Once it has been determined by the skater and parent that they cannot attend practice, please notify the head coach AND assistant coach through SportsYou. If the skater is injured, but able to attend practice, it is expected that the skater comes to the practice to watch. Fees and Payment Options Each skater is required to submit a non-refundable deposit/commitment fee. By signing the agreement, the family agrees to pay the dues in advance or in accordance with the monthly payment plan or one payment for the entire season, for which invoices will be emailed. Should a skater decide to withdraw from the team, it is still the responsibility of the skater/parent to pay dues in full for the season. Exceptions due to injury, confirmed by a doctor’s note, unforeseen financial hardship, or relocation will be considered by the GKSA board on a case-by-case basis. Team fees are due monthly. Your payments will be spread over the season. Commitment fees are due by May 15th, 2024. You may also choose to pay for the entire season and opt out of monthly payments. Payments are due by the 15th of each month, so please plan accordingly. Payments can be made through Entryeeze. A reminder email will be sent out through email on the 10th of each month before payments are due. Please make sure you have the current email on file with the treasurer. Please remember the Treasurer is a volunteer, and there are many possible hands that your payment will go through before reaching the Treasurer, so keep track of your payments and invoices. ALL TEAM FEES MUST BE CURRENT FOR SKATERS TO BE CONSIDERED ‘IN GOOD STANDING’ FOR PARTICIPATION IN COMPETITIONS, EXHIBITIONS, AND TRYOUTS. Past fundraising opportunities have included: Butter Braid pastries sales, Eat Out Nights and the Great Lakes Scrip Program. Fundraising credits will be applied to Entryeeze accounts. All fundraising credits will collectively offset synchro ice costs equally by skater across all competition teams. I, _______________________________________, (skater (if 18), or parent if skater is under age 18) am fully responsible for all financial obligations to the team for the 2023-2024 skating season. I agree to pay the dues in advance or in accordance with the monthly payment plan for which invoices will be emailed. Should my skater decide to withdraw from the team, it is still the responsibility of the skater/parent to pay dues in full. Exceptions due to injury, confirmed by a doctor’s note, unforeseen financial hardship, or relocation will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
